Junior Privacy Web Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Privacy Web Developer to join a fast‑growing global consulting firm that specializes in privacy technology, compliance and digital transformation. Based in Cape Town, you will work on web‑based consent and cookie‑management solutions for international clients, gaining expertise in a high‑demand niche.

Key responsibilities

• Configure privacy and consent management platforms.
• Develop consent banners and solutions using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Implement cookie banners through Google Tag Manager and related APIs.
• Test, troubleshoot and debug web implementations.
• Optimize website consent and cookie functionality.
• Support client implementations and platform integrations.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and manage multiple projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, IT, Cybersecurity or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in web or software development.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication and organisational abilities.
• Ability to handle competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Basic to intermediate Python
• Google Tag Manager
• WordPress or Adobe Experience Manager
• Linux command‑line basics
• Exposure to AWS, Azure or Google Cloud (advantage)
• MySQL or other relational databases
• Familiarity with consent‑management tools such as OneTrust or Cookiebot
• API integration experience
• Google Analytics or similar web‑analytics tools
