Junior Plant Operations Technician (IT/OT)

About the role

Our client, a leading meat production and processing company in Cullinan, is looking for a Junior Plant Operations Technician to support both IT and operational technology within an abattoir environment. This full‑time, on‑site role is ideal for an energetic individual eager to combine basic computer knowledge with hands‑on equipment maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair IT equipment such as PCs, printers, labellers and weighing scales.
• Assist with the setup, monitoring and basic support of the plant’s network infrastructure.
• Provide technical support across both the production floor and office areas.
• Troubleshoot day‑to‑day IT and OT issues to minimise downtime.
• Install, configure and upkeep hardware and related systems.
• Support operational technology used in production processes when required.
• Perform general IT‑related administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• Basic understanding of computers, networks and industrial machinery.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Reliable, responsible and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn new systems.
• Valid South African driver’s licence and own reliable transport.
• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• Residency in or around Cullinan.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans.

Required skills

• Basic computer hardware knowledge (PCs, printers, labellers, scales).
• Network troubleshooting.
• Industrial equipment maintenance.
