Junior Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Maintenance Technician to join our fast‑paced manufacturing environment. The role supports both electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault finding and preventative activities, providing a solid foundation for a newly qualified Millwright, Electrical or Mechatronics professional.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Assist with electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs.
• Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
• Help install new plant, machinery and equipment.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and equipment failures to minimise downtime.
• Maintain housekeeping and safe working standards.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and Health & Safety regulations.
• Undertake overtime, shift and standby duties as required.
• Support management with additional projects and maintenance tasks.

Required profile

• Electrical, Millwright or Mechatronics qualification (Millwright Trade Test) with limited or no post‑trade experience.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and controls.
• Working knowledge of PLC and HMI systems.
• Coding experience is advantageous.
• Own reliable transport and residence within 30 km of Driehoek, Germiston.
• Willingness to work overtime, shifts and standby duties.
