Junior Maintenance Technician

About the role

An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated Junior Maintenance Technician to join a fast‑paced manufacturing environment in Germiston. The role is ideal for a recently qualified millwright or a candidate looking to develop a technical career in maintenance and production support.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and equipment faults.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and routine inspections.
• Support the installation of new machinery and equipment.
• Maintain safe working practices and housekeeping standards.
• Help minimise production downtime through effective maintenance support.
• Complete tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Required profile

• Qualification in Electrical, Millwright or Mechatronics.
• Millwright Trade Test qualification, with limited or no post‑qualification experience.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Working knowledge of PLC and HMI systems.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport.
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required.
