Junior Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Maintenance Technician to join our fast‑paced manufacturing team in Germiston. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience supporting both electrical and mechanical maintenance activities, helping to keep production running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with routine electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production stoppages.
• Perform fault finding and basic diagnostics on machinery.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and regular equipment inspections.
• Support the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
• Maintain safe work practices and adhere to company procedures.
• Keep the work area tidy and follow housekeeping standards.
• Work according to production schedules, including standby or overtime when required.

Required profile

• Qualification in Electrical, Millwright, Mechatronics or related trade.
• Millwright Trade Test (limited post‑qualification experience accepted).
• Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Exposure to PLC and HMI systems is advantageous.
• Basic computer literacy, preferably Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work under pressure in a team environment.
• Strong safety awareness and willingness to learn.
