Junior Litigation Attorney

About the role

Our client, a well‑established law firm in Krugersdorp, is looking for a Junior Litigation Attorney to join its dynamic Litigation Department. The role offers the opportunity to handle a variety of civil and criminal matters while developing independent case management skills in a supportive team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage civil litigation matters from inception through to finalisation.
• Draft pleadings, notices, affidavits and other litigation documents.
• Attend court appearances, consultations and pre‑trial conferences.
• Handle Minister of Police claims, Road Accident Fund (RAF) matters, insolvency and business rescue proceedings.
• Assist with criminal law matters as required.
• Liaise with clients, counsel, correspondents and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with court rules and procedural deadlines.

Required profile

• Admitted attorney with 1‑2 years post‑admission litigation experience.
• Demonstrated experience in civil litigation.
• Exposure to Minister of Police matters, RAF claims, insolvency and business rescue.
• Basic exposure to criminal law is advantageous.
• Strong drafting, analytical and advocacy abilities.
• Ability to manage matters independently while working effectively within a team.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
