Junior IT Technician

About the role

As a Junior IT Technician at Village n Life, you will support the technology backbone that keeps the multi‑property hospitality group running smoothly. Based in Camps Bay, Cape Town, you will work in a fast‑paced, service‑led environment that spans hotels, apartments, spas, restaurants and offices.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑tier IT support across all properties via tickets, calls and walk‑ins.
• Perform daily system checks, basic server monitoring and accurate reporting to the Head of Technology.
• Assist with standardized computer deployments, software installations and user setups.
• Troubleshoot Windows, macOS, MS365, mobile devices, email platforms and basic Active Directory tasks.
• Maintain asset registers, handle password resets, DSTV activations and vendor coordination.
• Conduct basic backup and Mimecast monitoring, POS system checks and CCTV/access‑control assistance.
• Support audio‑visual equipment, smart TVs, conferencing and event‑tech setups.
• Perform simple networking checks on switches, access points, cabling and security tools.
• Monitor inverter, generator and solar systems at an operational level.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent with a Microsoft or similar technical certification.
• 1–3 years of experience in an IT support role.
• Strong organisational ability and clear communication for non‑technical users.
• Calm, practical troubleshooting approach in a busy hospitality setting.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
