Junior IT Technician

About the role

Our client, a leading company in the shipping industry, is looking for a Junior IT Technician to join their Johannesburg office. The role focuses on delivering first‑line and second‑line technical support to ensure smooth operation of the company’s IT infrastructure and maximise staff productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line and second‑line support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices and teleconferencing equipment.
• Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) activities for end‑user hardware.
• Troubleshoot and maintain Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, Outlook and Exchange.
• Support and administer Microsoft Server and Office 365 environments.
• Diagnose and resolve network issues including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS and cabling.
• Configure, maintain and support Android and iPhone devices.
• Install, manage and troubleshoot printers and audio‑visual equipment such as projectors.

Required profile

• CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent practical experience.
• CompTIA Network+ certification or comparable networking knowledge.
• MCSA – Office 365 and Server Administration, or MCSE – Office 365.
• Sophos XG Firewall Engineer certification or similar firewall administration experience.
• Proven experience in first‑ and second‑line desktop support and IMAC processes.
