Junior IT Technician

About the role

Our client in the sport, leisure and wellness sector is seeking a well‑presented Junior IT Technician to deliver user support and maintain IT services across multiple sites in Johannesburg. You will work under defined SLAs, troubleshoot issues and ensure smooth operation of hardware, software and network resources.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain wireless connectivity at all sites and provision new users and devices.
• Provide basic printer, telephone and mobile device support, including driver installation and configuration.
• Set up and configure desktops, laptops and related assets; install and update software as required.
• Manage Office 365 mailboxes, distribution lists, black‑/white‑lists, auto‑responses and user archiving.
• Create and maintain user accounts, TS sessions, VPN remote access and handle password resets.
• Support CRM applications, Slack/Workast, and general email connectivity issues.
• Coordinate ordering of new IT equipment and deliver onsite support when needed.
• Participate in weekend and after‑hours on‑call rotation for critical incidents.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in IT (e.g., MCITP) with certifications such as Network+ and A+.
• Strong communication, presentation and administrative abilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and make quick decisions.
• Proactive, eager to learn and comfortable in a commercial environment.

Required skills

• MCITP, Network+, A+ certifications.
• Microsoft Windows environment, Linux, Active Directory.
• Office 365 administration, VPN configuration, remote desktop (TS).
• Wireless networking, printer and telephone system support.
• Hardware setup (desktops, laptops) and driver installation.
• Mobile device management for iOS, Android and BlackBerry.
• CRM, Slack, Workast, fax‑to‑email configuration.
