Junior IT Help Desk Technician

About the role

A growing IT support team in Johannesburg is looking for a Junior IT Help Desk Technician. The role provides first-line technical support to end users and suits someone who wants to build a career in IT support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first-line IT support by phone, email, remote access and on-site assistance.
• Install, configure and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows operating systems.
• Support Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and printer issues.
• Assist users with VPN and remote access connectivity.
• Perform basic network troubleshooting, including Wi-Fi and internet issues.
• Configure and support user accounts and passwords.
• Escalate complex issues to senior technicians and keep accurate records of support requests and resolutions.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
• Certificate, diploma or relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Systems or Networking.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office; exposure to basic networking concepts.
• CompTIA A+, N+ or Microsoft certifications are advantageous.
• Experience with remote support tools is advantageous.
