Junior Human Resource Business Partner

About the role

The Junior Human Resource Business Partner will support the delivery of people solutions by partnering with line managers and employees. You will help implement HR initiatives, provide first‑line HR advice, and ensure consistent application of policies and practices across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Build effective working relationships with supervisors and line managers.
• Provide first‑line HR advice on people‑related matters.
• Support implementation of HR strategies and business initiatives.
• Escalate complex issues to the General Manager as needed.
• Guide routine employee‑relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance and incapacity processes.
• Assist with investigations, documentation and compliance with labour legislation.
• Support performance‑management processes and talent review activities.
• Monitor completion of performance reviews and employee‑engagement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to fill vacancies and ensure smooth onboarding.
• Partner with People Development to identify skill gaps and support development initiatives.
• Maintain accurate employee records and administer employment documentation.
• Compile HR reports, dashboards and monitor metrics such as turnover and absenteeism.
• Participate in HR projects, change initiatives and policy implementation.

Required profile

• National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organisational Psychology or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience in a generalist HR role.
• Experience as a Junior Human Resources Business Partner in a manufacturing environment (advantageous).
• Working knowledge of relevant labour laws, recruitment and selection best practices.
