Junior Graphic Designer

About the role

Oneplan Underwriting Managers is seeking a creative and detail‑oriented Junior Graphic Designer to join its Marketing team in Johannesburg. The role offers hands‑on experience across health, gap, pet, car and home insurance portfolios, supporting a range of digital, social, branding and print projects while being mentored by the Senior Graphic Designer.

Key responsibilities

• Design and produce marketing collateral for both print and digital channels, including social media content, digital ads, signage, event branding, presentations and internal communications.
• Interpret creative briefs, develop concepts, and deliver artwork within agreed timelines while incorporating stakeholder feedback.
• Maintain Oneplan’s brand consistency, applying strong typography, layout, colour and composition principles.
• Prepare files for print and digital production, perform image retouching and optimisation, and manage version control.
• Collaborate daily with the Senior Graphic Designer and broader Marketing team, supporting internal stakeholders and contributing fresh ideas.
• Gradually take ownership of increasingly complex projects as skills develop.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or a related field.
• 1–3 years of graphic design experience, or a recent graduate with an outstanding portfolio that demonstrates solid design fundamentals.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple requests, and a proactive attitude toward learning.
• Willingness to work onsite in Johannesburg and collaborate closely with senior team members.

Required skills

• Proficiency in graphic design principles such as typography, layout, colour theory and composition.
• Experience with image editing and preparation for print and digital output.
• Ability to interpret creative briefs and incorporate feedback efficiently.
