Junior Field Service Technician

About the role

Our client in the healthcare sector is looking for a motivated Junior Field Service Technician to join their Johannesburg team. You will receive on‑the‑job training and support to develop into a fully qualified Service Technician while assisting senior technicians in the field.

Key responsibilities

• Support senior Service Technicians with installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of healthcare equipment.
• Provide technical assistance on‑site and, when required, at the factory.
• Assist with after‑hours service calls on an ad‑hoc basis.
• Travel nationally and internationally as needed to support operations.

Required profile

• Grade 12/Matric certificate or equivalent; tertiary qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is a plus.
• Basic technical experience in electrical and/or mechanical engineering.
• Valid Code 08 driver’s licence (EB licence advantageous).
• Strong time‑management, organizational and communication skills.
• Willingness to work independently, take initiative and provide excellent customer service.

Required skills

• Fundamental knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, diagrams and manuals.
• Valid Code 08 driver’s licence.
