Junior Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Engineer to join an established engineering and technical services company in Cape Town. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience, mentorship from the Contracts Engineer, and the opportunity to grow within the engineering department.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Contracts Engineer with contract‑related tasks, including drafting layouts, P&IDs, and project drawings.
• Manage day‑to‑day documentation, SOPs, site reports, and compile final data packs.
• Support quality control, logistics and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Shadow field service technicians to learn about boilers, burners and related systems, and help prepare job packs.
• Coordinate scheduling, logistics and monitor service quality and safety compliance.
• Provide administrative support across finance, stores, procurement and departmental reporting.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or B.Eng. in Mechanical, Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering (or equivalent B.Tech/N.Dip).
• Entry‑level; no prior work experience required, though 1‑2 years in an engineering role is a plus.
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport.

Required skills

• High proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with CAD or drawing software.
• Experience with Microsoft Project (advantageous).
