Junior Electronic Engineer

About the role

Our client, a leading South African defence engineering company, is looking for enthusiastic Junior Electronic Engineers to join a fast‑growing team that designs, manufactures, tests and evaluates advanced fire‑control and sighting systems for military platforms. The role provides hands‑on exposure to electro‑mechanical and electro‑optical systems with structured mentorship to accelerate technical growth.

Key responsibilities

• Design electronic subsystems for electro‑mechanical equipment.
• Create PCB layouts, assemble prototypes and support PCB manufacturing.
• Develop embedded software where required.
• Test, evaluate, modify and re‑test integrated hardware.
• Measure system performance against client specifications.
• Assist with project budgets and timelines.
• Provide hardware and software support on‑site and at client locations.
• Address technical queries from clients and support product issues.
• Liaise with suppliers and external stakeholders.
• Write technical and test reports and maintain build documentation.
