Junior Data Analyst

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Junior Data Analyst to join a leading FMCG retail and wholesale organisation in Cape Town. The role will support data‑driven decision‑making by turning sales, stock and financial data into actionable insights for multiple business units.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse sales, inventory and financial data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Monitor stock movement, flagging risks and highlighting potential improvements.
• Prepare regular reports, dashboards and management information for stakeholders.
• Support the development and maintenance of reporting tools and business intelligence solutions.
• Validate data and ensure accuracy across all reporting outputs.
• Assist with forecasting, planning and performance analysis.
• Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, Operations and IT teams to meet reporting needs.
• Respond to ad‑hoc data requests and business queries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Information Systems or a related field.
• 0‑2 years of experience in a data, reporting, finance or analytics environment.
• Strong analytical thinking with high attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret data and communicate insights clearly.
• Good organisational and time‑management skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Power BI.
• Familiarity with SQL or similar data‑query tools.
