Junior C# Software Developer

About the role

DotActiv provides category management software and advisory services for the South African retail market. Its C# developers build a Single Page Application using ASP.NET Core Web API and AngularJS, backed by a Microsoft SQL database, and use Xamarin for mobile apps that share a codebase with their .NET Core web applications. This is a remote position open to anyone in South Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Translate application storyboards and use cases into working applications
• Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable and reliable C# code
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality and responsiveness of applications
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions
• Maintain code quality, organisation and automation

Required profile

• At least 1 year of relevant development experience in an IT environment
• National Senior Certificate (Umalusi endorsed) including Grade 12 Mathematics at 70% or more
• A recognised IT certification such as A+, N+, MCSE, MCP, MCT, VCP or VCSP

Required skills

• Proficiency in C# and a good knowledge of its ecosystem
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and reusable library design
• Familiarity with continuous integration, Microsoft SQL, JSON, Angular and .NET Framework
• Automated testing platforms and unit tests
• Version control tools such as Git
• An advantage: machine learning, image recognition, cloud computing, AI software development or computer vision
