Joinery Manager (TC 99)

About the role

Our client is a well‑established company in the building, construction and commercial refurbishment sector, delivering turnkey interior solutions such as ceilings, partitions, shopfitting, glazing and aluminium. The Joinery Manager will lead daily factory and installation operations to ensure efficient, on‑time production for retail, commercial and refurbishment projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily factory operations and installation team, coordinating production based on job priorities, deadlines, drawings and material availability.
• Supervise staff including machine operators, assemblers, carpenters, spray painters and general workers, monitoring productivity and implementing improvements.
• Maintain quality control standards throughout all production stages and oversee routine maintenance of machinery to minimise downtime.
• Ensure health and safety compliance with South African occupational regulations and control stock levels of timber, hardware and adhesives.
• Collaborate with procurement, design, sales and installation teams, interpret technical drawings and prepare production reports on output, delays, waste and quality issues.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent; qualification in Wood Technology, Production Management or related field is advantageous.
• 5‑8 years experience in joinery, cabinetry, furniture manufacturing or woodworking factory environment.
• Minimum 3 years of management or supervisory experience in a production setting.
• Strong understanding of joinery manufacturing processes, materials, machinery and finishing methods.
• Proven leadership, team management and problem‑solving abilities.
