About the role
The company is looking for a dynamic IT Technician/Systems Co‑ordinator to own the internal IT environment and act as a key operational and technical resource. Reporting to the CIO, the role involves both hands‑on support and coordination with external service providers.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and operate the internal IT helpdesk function as the first responder for all technology‑related issues.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, reporting and operational system problems.
- Coordinate escalations and work with third‑party service providers when required.
- Support and maintain Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and Windows environments.
- Assist users with advanced Excel formulas, spreadsheets and reporting requirements.
- Develop, maintain and connect SQL queries, stored procedures, and reports to Excel and Power BI dashboards.
- Participate in the implementation of new systems, workflows and integrations, especially ERP (Sage Evolution) and MES (Innova/Axin) systems.
- Document business logic, workflows and system requirements for developers.
- Support networking infrastructure, emergency repairs and specialised equipment such as scales, label printers, PDA devices and two‑way radios.
- Manage issuance, tracking and maintenance of company IT equipment and promote IT security awareness.
- Provide standby and after‑hours support for a 24/7 operation.
Required profile
- Strong general IT support and troubleshooting experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and solid SQL knowledge, including stored procedures.
- Good understanding of Microsoft Office, Outlook and Windows environments.
- Strong networking knowledge and ability to work independently under pressure.
- Excellent communication and user‑support skills.
- Valid driver’s licence, reliable transport and a high‑quality home internet connection for after‑hours log‑ins.
- Willingness to travel, take support calls after hours and be on standby when required.
