IT Technician – Permanent Position

About the role

The Kgatelopele Municipality is seeking a qualified Information Technology Technician to join its Corporate Services department on a permanent basis. You will provide first‑level technical support and ensure the municipality’s IT infrastructure operates efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver first‑level support for hardware, software, networking, telecommunications and multimedia systems.
• Install, configure and maintain hardware, operational software and network infrastructure.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network issues.
• Set up and manage desktops, laptops, printers, user accounts, permissions and access controls.
• Maintain daily checklists, perform basic server checks and report to the Head of the IT Unit.

Required profile

• Grade 12 plus a National Diploma or Higher Certificate in ICT.
• Driver’s licence.
• 3–5 years of relevant IT support experience.
• Advantageous: Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, A+ or Network certification, or other relevant PC courses.
