IT Systems Administrator – Night Shift

About the role

RAC Human Capital is looking for a reliable, service‑oriented IT Systems Administrator to maintain and support its technology environment. The role is night‑shift based, aligned with United States and Australian operating hours, and focuses on ensuring stability, security, and efficiency of all IT systems.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, maintain and support servers, networks, endpoints and business applications.
• Provide first‑line and second‑line support for hardware, software, network, email and access issues.
• Manage Microsoft 365 services, including user accounts, mailboxes, permissions, groups and access controls.
• Support Active Directory or cloud identity administration, handling onboarding, off‑boarding and password management.
• Install, configure and maintain laptops, desktops, printers, peripherals, telephony and approved software.
• Monitor system performance, uptime, storage, backups and security alerts, escalating when necessary.
• Apply patches, antivirus updates and security configurations to keep devices compliant.
• Troubleshoot firewall, VPN, Wi‑Fi, LAN/WAN and internet connectivity issues.
• Maintain IT asset registers, licence records, support logs and technical documentation.
• Assist with backup testing, disaster recovery readiness and business continuity activities.
• Support vendor liaison, procurement and continuous improvement projects.

Required profile

• Residence in the Helderberg area (non‑negotiable).
• Matric / Grade 12 qualification.
• Relevant IT qualification (Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Administration or related).
• Minimum 3 years experience in IT support, systems or infrastructure administration.

Required skills

• Windows desktop and server environments.
• Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
• Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN and Wi‑Fi networking.
• Endpoint hardware support and troubleshooting.
• Firewall, LAN/WAN and internet connectivity troubleshooting.
• Backup, disaster recovery and business continuity processes.
• Patch management, antivirus and security configuration.
