IT Support Engineer – Resorts (Port Shepstone)

About the role

The IT Support Engineer will provide on‑site technical assistance across the company’s resort portfolio throughout South Africa. Based in Port Shepstone, the role involves travelling to multiple locations to maintain and improve the full range of IT infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, upgrade and maintain PCs, servers, printers, telephones, TVs and wireless equipment at resort sites.
• Configure and troubleshoot Linux and Windows (7/10/11) operating systems.
• Manage Mikrotik and Ubiquiti routers and access points, ensuring reliable wireless connectivity.
• Perform cabling and fibre‑optic installations and diagnostics.
• Provide first‑line support to end‑users and coordinate with third‑party suppliers.
• Document incidents, resolutions and maintain inventory of hardware and software.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of IT support experience.
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to research and resolve complex issues independently.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction at all organisational levels.
• Preference given to candidates from designated groups per the Employment Equity Plan.

Required skills

• Wireless networking, cabling and fibre‑optic technologies.
• Certifications: Linux+, LPI, Network+, Security+, MCSE, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Fibre‑optics.
