IT Infrastructure Engineer – Hybrid (Contract)

About the role

Our client is looking for an Advanced Infrastructure Engineer to join their core Infrastructure Engineering squad within a global IT Hub. The role focuses on delivering high‑availability Linux solutions that are resilient, encrypted, and secure across office and critical production manufacturing environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and operate standardized Linux client platforms for office and manufacturing production environments.
• Install, configure, administer and support Linux systems on physical, virtual and cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure).
• Create base images, software packages and configuration standards.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, apply remediation measures and manage patch lifecycles.
• Participate in Incident, Problem and Change (PIC) workflows within an Agile setting.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with Unix/Linux operating systems (RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE).
• Strong automation background using Ansible and Ansible Tower.
• Developer‑minded sysadmin comfortable writing clean scripts (Bash, Perl, Python).
• Experience with GitOps workflows, GitHub repository management and configuration‑as‑code.
• Self‑directed, adaptable and able to collaborate across application, cloud and security squads.
