IT Infrastructure Engineer (Contract)

About the role

Our client is looking for an Advanced Infrastructure Engineer to join the core Infrastructure Engineering squad within their global IT Hub. The role focuses on delivering high‑availability Linux solutions that are resilient, encrypted, and secure across office and critical production manufacturing environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and operate standardized Linux client platforms for office and manufacturing production environments.
• Install, configure, administer and support Linux systems on physical, virtual and cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure).
• Create base images, software packages and configuration standards.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, apply remediation measures and manage patch lifecycles.
• Run Incident, Problem and Change (PIC) workflows within an Agile environment.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with Unix/Linux operating systems (RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE).
• Advanced expertise in Ansible Automation and Ansible Tower.
• Strong scripting skills in Bash, Perl and Python.
• Experience with GitHub and GitOps repository management.
• Self‑directed, adaptable and comfortable collaborating across cross‑functional squads.
