Investment Banking Associate / Vice President – Telecommunications

About the role

Join a leading pan‑African investment bank as an Investment Banking Associate or Vice President in the Telecommunications team. Based in Johannesburg (Harare candidates considered), you will advise clients across the telecom value chain on M&A and capital‑raising transactions throughout Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice to telecom operators, digital infrastructure providers, ISPs and VAS companies on mergers, acquisitions and capital markets.
• Lead financial analysis, valuation and transaction structuring for cross‑border deals.
• Conduct telecom‑specific cash‑flow analysis for tower and fibre assets.
• Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, financial sponsors and infrastructure investors.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of investment banking or corporate finance experience.
• Prior transaction experience in telecommunications, digital infrastructure or the broader TMT sector.
• Strong technical capabilities in financial analysis, valuation and deal structuring.
• Working knowledge of telecom metrics, especially tower and fibre cash‑flow models.
• Proven ability to develop client and investor relationships.
