About the role
Midvaal Local Municipality offers two six‑month internships focused on energy efficiency and demand‑side management. The role supports the municipality’s efforts to reduce energy consumption and promote sustainable practices.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with baseline energy assessments and audits.
- Collect and analyse energy consumption data.
- Support energy efficiency projects such as lighting, HVAC, and controls.
- Help with demand‑side management and awareness campaigns.
- Prepare technical and progress reports.
Required profile
- Diploma (NQF 6) or degree (NQF 7) in Electrical Engineering, Built Environment, Natural Sciences, Economic Sciences or related field.
- Unemployed graduate with no prior full‑time job in the sector.
- Must reside within the Midvaal Local Municipality area.
- Good analytical and report‑writing skills.
- Driver’s licence is an advantage.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
