International Payroll Coordinator – Associate

About the role

This is a fully remote, permanent position (initial 12‑month contract) based in South Africa, supporting an international organisation that provides payroll, compliance and advisory services across multiple countries. The role acts as the central coordination hub for international payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Collate, quality‑check and prepare payroll data for international clients.
• Process payroll payments using relevant payment tools and files.
• Manage client communications via email and Teams.
• Liaise with in‑country partners across European markets.
• Coordinate HR and employment‑law matters, including country‑specific terminations.
• Understand payroll calculation structures, including employee and employer tax components.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in accounting, finance, tax or payroll.
• At least 3 years of experience in accounting, payroll or a closely related field.
• Hands‑on experience with payroll processing and journal entries.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
• Ambitious with a genuine interest in building a long‑term career in international payroll.
