Internal Auditor

About the role

Our client, a group of companies operating in the FMCG and hospitality sectors, is looking for an Internal Auditor to join its dynamic back‑office team in Johannesburg. The role will focus on evaluating internal processes, ensuring compliance and supporting risk‑management initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform the full audit cycle, including risk assessment, control testing and reporting on operational effectiveness and financial reliability.
• Define audit scope and develop quarterly audit plans.
• Provide independent, objective advice to management and the audit committee.
• Prepare and present audit reports, highlighting findings, loopholes and recommended risk‑aversion measures.
• Document audit procedures and maintain audit memoranda.
• Conduct follow‑up audits to verify implementation of corrective actions.
• Undertake ad‑hoc audit tasks as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Internal Auditor.
• Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement.
• Relevant degree or professional qualification is preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with accounting software and handling large data sets.
• Knowledge of auditing standards and procedures.
