Intermediate Software Developer, Full Stack

About the role

G Adventures is looking for an opinionated, curious, and empathetic full‑stack developer to join its Operations Systems team. You will build and maintain front‑end and back‑end applications that support product, operations, buying and marketing teams. The role is hybrid, based in the Cape Town office, and offers the chance to work on travel‑focused technology in an open‑source environment.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate quickly with the team and deploy code frequently.
• Write short specs, prototypes and unit tests to validate new ideas.
• Ensure code maintainability and improve test coverage.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand needs and nurture tools.
• Prototype wireframes and contribute to user‑experience design.
• Work with other software teams to improve system communication and performance.
• Explore and evaluate new technologies for improvement opportunities.
• Participate in design and regular code reviews.

Required profile

• 5+ years of JavaScript experience.
• 3+ years of experience building applications with React.
• 5+ years of Python development; Django experience is a plus.
• Fundamental knowledge of HTML & CSS and deep familiarity with browser behavior.
• Comfort with command‑line tools, Git and common application stacks (nginx, node.js, uwsgi).
