Intermediate Release Manager (Fixed Term)

About the role

Electrum, a payment software technology company, is hiring an Intermediate Engineering Release Manager for a 6-month fixed-term contract in Cape Town. The role coordinates and drives the software release process from planning through to go-live, combining project management, program management and Scrum Master elements. It suits someone who likes optimisation, predictability and a big-picture view.

Key responsibilities

• Lead weekly planning sessions with Engineering team leads, vet plans for risks and run prioritisation with cross-departmental stakeholders
• Manage project execution and the release lifecycle, tracking progress toward committed milestones
• Identify and manage risk, scope and quality, form risk mitigation plans and drive compliance adoption
• Keep Engineering and Electrum stakeholders informed on release progress and risk, and provide data-driven reporting and recommendations
• Improve project management and release practices, propose process improvements and design and implement new flows or systems in existing or new tools

Required profile

• University degree
• 4 years of experience in a project management role involving software development teams and Agile methodologies
• Experience in cross-functional teams, analytical delivery of technical projects and creating release documentation and reporting
• Proactive ownership of the release lifecycle and cross-functional project management
• Affinity for improving processes and systems
