Intermediate Laravel PHP Full Stack Developer

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Intermediate Laravel PHP Full Stack Developer to join our team in Parow, Cape Town. You will be responsible for maintaining and expanding a complex, multi‑component application while contributing to future Laravel projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve existing and new application components, including device‑level software, REST APIs, databases, and front‑end portals.
• Write clean, scalable code using PHP (Laravel 13), HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, Redis and AWS services.
• Ensure high performance, security, and scalability across all layers of the application.
• Collaborate with development and customer‑service teams to design and implement new features.
• Manage and optimise MySQL databases on AWS Aurora for query efficiency.
• Create background services and queues that interact with Redis.
• Maintain REST API endpoints and integrate them with front‑end and back‑end components.
• Deploy and manage cloud services using AWS EC2.
• Implement real‑time communication with Laravel Broadcasting.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise the existing codebase.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic and motivated with intermediate experience in Laravel development.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, especially AWS and Redis.
• Passionate about working with a diverse technology stack.
