Intermediate Full-Stack Developer – Internal Systems & Automation

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing financial services business in Bellville, is looking for an Intermediate Full‑Stack Developer to modernise internal systems, automate processes and build scalable applications that directly impact the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain web‑based internal applications and business systems.
• Replace manual, spreadsheet‑driven processes with scalable solutions.
• Build and maintain integrations with databases, APIs and third‑party platforms.
• Work across front‑end and back‑end technologies, modernising legacy Excel, VBA and SQL workflows.
• Gather requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into technical solutions.
• Utilise AI‑assisted development tools to improve productivity.
• Ensure applications are documented, version‑controlled, secure and supportable.
• Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting and enhancements.
• Collaborate with Credit, Finance, Operations, Risk and Business Intelligence teams.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Mathematics or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of software development experience.
• Strong full‑stack experience with ability to deliver end‑to‑end applications independently.
• Experience in financial services or data‑driven environments is a plus.

Required skills

• Back‑end frameworks: Python, Django, Flask.NET, Node.js (or similar).
• Front‑end frameworks: React, Angular, Vue (or equivalent).
• SQL and relational database expertise.
• API design, authentication, integration, validation and error handling.
• Git/GitHub version control.
• Exposure to deployment, maintenance and production support environments.
