Intermediate AI Software Engineer

About the role

Our client is seeking an Intermediate AI Software Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team. The role involves delivering high-quality software solutions, contributing to AI-enabled features, and owning features from design through deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain high-quality software applications.
• Own features and modules throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Participate in solution design, estimation and architecture discussions.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using modern development practices.
• Conduct code reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and technical stakeholders.
• Mentor and support junior developers where appropriate.
• Contribute to AI-enabled features and explore opportunities to leverage Machine Learning and Large Language Models.
• Ensure software meets business, security, and quality standards.

Required profile

• BSc Degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience.
• South African citizenship.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
• Curious mindset with a passion for learning emerging technologies.
