Instrumentation Proposals Engineer – Internal Sales

About the role

A leading technical engineering solutions business is looking for an experienced Proposals Engineer to join its internal sales team. You will prepare and manage technical proposals, quotations and tenders while delivering suitable engineering solutions to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate customer and opportunity data in the CRM system.
• Develop relationships with existing customers and identify growth opportunities.
• Conduct site visits to understand technical and operational requirements.
• Prepare technically sound quotations, tenders and proposals using instrument sizing and selection tools.
• Obtain pricing from local and international suppliers and compile pricing schedules.
• Review quotations for technical accuracy and communicate any deviations.
• Submit quotations and tenders on time and confirm receipt with customers.
• Process orders accurately, issue acknowledgements and keep CRM updated.
• Support customers and project teams with technical queries and inspections.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric with Mathematics and Physical Science (National Diploma in Engineering advantageous).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience, including 2–3 years in customer relationship management.
• Previous experience in internal sales, proposals, quotations or technical sales environments.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with instrument sizing and selection tools.
