Installer III – Construction (Hickory, NC)

About the role

HouseSmart Construction is seeking an Installer III to join the crew on manufactured home sites in Hickory, NC. You will work closely with the Crew Chief to set up homes, perform a variety of construction tasks, and help train new team members.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Crew Chief with daily site coordination and task allocation.
• Prepare and clean job sites, perform basic masonry, and level homes.
• Install door bars, supports, electrical and plumbing crossovers, and remove tires, axles, and tongues.
• Operate and eventually lead specialty heavy equipment such as skid‑steer, tractor, backhoe, and front‑end loader.
• Perform roofing duties including hingers, flashing, shingles, and ridge caps.
• Conduct quality and safety checks, secure loads, and ensure equipment is organized.

Required profile

• 2+ years of residential, commercial, or industrial construction experience.
• Comfortable working outdoors, lifting up to 50 lb, and accessing heights and crawl spaces.
• Willingness to learn, coach others, and solve problems on the job.
• Positive team attitude and strong work ethic.
