About the role

Join AWS Infrastructure Services as an Installation Technician in the Cape Town data‑center cluster. This entry‑level position focuses on installing and testing cabling, racks, and network devices to keep the cloud running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Adhere to security and safety best practices within the data centre.
• Install and test copper and fiber‑optic cabling.
• Perform basic build and troubleshooting of network devices.
• Create and attach labels and barcodes to equipment.
• Manage inventory of cabling and related materials.
• Follow defined escalation processes and standard operating procedures.
• Use internal workflow tools to track, update and complete work requests.
• Support multiple data‑centre sites when required.

Required profile

• Physical ability to work in cramped spaces, at heights and lift equipment within regulatory limits.
• Comfort with noisy, temperature‑varying environments.
• Capability to perform repetitive tasks while following standard processes.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
