Information Technology (IT) Officer

About the role

The Radiation Protection Agency (RPA) seeks a motivated Information Technology (IT) Officer to provide technical support, maintain systems, and ensure data security for its regulatory operations. This role will work closely with end‑users and senior staff to keep the agency’s IT environment reliable and secure.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hardware, software, and network support to end users.
• Install, configure, and maintain computers, printers, and peripherals.
• Implement and monitor data backup and recovery procedures.
• Apply system updates, patches, and routine maintenance tasks.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
• Document technical procedures, troubleshooting steps, and IT inventory.
• Enforce data confidentiality, integrity, and cybersecurity measures.
• Develop, implement, and maintain information systems and web‑based applications supporting regulatory functions.
• Assist with website development and ongoing maintenance.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• BSc in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• At least three (3) years of relevant IT experience.
• Strong knowledge of network administration, hardware maintenance, and information security principles.
• Experience in systems analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
• High integrity, professionalism, and ability to handle confidential information.
