Industrial Site Based Basic Life Support

About the role

Provide emergency medical care on industrial mining sites, responding to site‑based emergency calls in line with the Basic Life Support (BLS) scope of practice. The role is based at the ER24 Corporate Office in Gauteng and will support new mining sites across South Africa on a three‑year contract.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure operational readiness for emergency calls.
• Administer patient care according to BLS scope of practice.
• Deliver professional emergency services to site‑based clients.

Required profile

• Basic Life Support Certificate (essential).
• Minimum 6 months BLS experience (essential).
• Completion of training related to Clinical Practice Guidelines (desired).
• 1 year BLS experience (desired).

Required skills

• Knowledge of facilities, travel routes and demographical area.
• Understanding of HPCSA guidelines and BLS scope of practice.
• Familiarity with EMS environment.
• Proficiency in written and verbal English.
• Ability to complete Patient Report Forms.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation (OSH Act, Mine Health and Safety Act) and risk management.
• Application of best practice in emergency care.
