About the role
The Industrial Relations (IR) Consultant will provide comprehensive labour‑relations advisory services to a diverse client base. You will work in an open‑mindset culture that values continuous learning, service excellence, and individual contribution.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver telephonic and on‑site advice on all labour‑relations matters.
- Design and present IR training programmes for clients.
- Investigate, initiate and chair termination and grievance forums.
- Draft contracts, agreements, and company policies.
- Represent clients at CCMA and Bargaining Council conciliation and arbitration hearings.
- Prepare IR newsletters and keep clients informed of regulatory developments.
- Conduct compliance audits, submit reports and propose risk‑mitigation strategies.
- Liaise with labour attorneys and specialist advisors as required.
Required profile
- Minimum degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, LLB or related field; postgraduate qualification is a plus.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience, including dismissal procedures, conciliations, arbitrations and policy drafting.
- Experience representing clients before the CCMA and relevant bargaining councils.
- Strong written and verbal communication in English and Afrikaans.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook.
