Industrial Controller

About the role

The Industrial Controller will provide financial leadership to Thales' manufacturing operation. This role ensures accurate reporting, cost control and supports operational decision‑making while maintaining compliance with corporate policies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the monthly manufacturing close, preparing journal entries, accruals, reallocations and inventory adjustments.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, KPIs, performance analysis and management reporting.
• Manage product costing, including standard cost maintenance, COGS, PPV, inventory valuation, scrap and variance analysis.
• Drive the annual budget and rolling forecast processes and monitor performance against plan.
• Evaluate capital investment proposals through ROI and payback analysis and monitor capital expenditure.
• Maintain financial master data and costing structures within the ERP system.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, corporate policies and internal controls.
• Act as primary finance contact for internal and external audits related to manufacturing activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting, Finance or Management Accounting.
• Professional qualification such as CA(SA), CIMA or SAIPA is an advantage.
• 5+ years of experience in finance, cost or management accounting within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure during month‑end and year‑end periods.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Power BI for reporting and analysis.
