ICT Support Technician – 12‑Month Learnership

About the role

We are looking for a motivated ICT Support Technician to join our 12‑month learnership programme in Johannesburg. The role provides hands‑on experience in a dynamic IT environment, supporting hardware, software and network systems for internal and external users.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line technical support, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and network issues.
• Install, configure, maintain and upgrade desktops, laptops, printers and peripheral devices.
• Support and maintain LAN infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, network drives and security appliances.
• Monitor system performance, maintain documentation and asset records.
• Manage operating system installations, software deployments and updates across workstations.
• Assist users with application queries and provide professional customer service.
• Support website maintenance and front‑end/back‑end application functionality as required.
• Help onboard and train new users, creating technical documentation and user guides.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Information Technology or equivalent, or a Higher Certificate in IT.
• South African citizen with a disability.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and good communication skills.

Required skills

• Hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Network administration and LAN configuration.
• Experience with routers, switches, firewalls and security appliances.
• Knowledge of operating system installation and software deployment.
• Basic cybersecurity awareness.
