ICT Senior Data Governance Specialist (MS Purview)

About the role

Our client is recruiting for an ICT Senior Data Governance Specialist (MS Purview) on a six‑month fixed‑term contract aligned to the operational requirements of the ICT Division.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation, configuration and management of Microsoft Purview for enterprise data governance.
• Establish and maintain data governance frameworks, standards and policies to meet organisational and regulatory requirements.
• Design and implement data cataloging, classification, lineage and policy management to improve data discoverability and compliance.
• Develop and manage data quality rules, dashboards and monitoring processes to ensure data integrity and reliability.
• Drive data classification initiatives supporting POPIA, GDPR and other data protection legislation.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Science or related discipline (NQF level 6+).
• Minimum 8 years of experience in data governance, data management or related roles.
• Hands‑on experience implementing and administering Microsoft Purview.
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks such as DAMA‑DMBOK and DCAM.
• Experience with Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake) and modern data platforms.
