Hygiene Consultant - East London

About the role

This is a combination role for a Hygiene Consultant based in East London, serving customers across the Eastern Cape. You will both win new business and maintain the accounts you acquire, ensuring continuity of service throughout the contract period.

Key responsibilities

• Run regular service calls on existing clients, following a planned cycle and completing service checklists.
• Pursue new business in the territory and promote the full product basket to new clients.
• Understand hygiene audit criteria, evaluate results, and assist with corrective action plans.
• Maintain hygiene files, tank manuals, agreements and other compliance documentation.
• Train client staff on the correct use of supplied systems and products.
• Receive and process orders, support deliveries and on‑site installations while travelling.
• Promote the Extraction Division alongside the core hygiene range.
• Provide support to the SHEQ Officer and the accounts department as required.

Required profile

• Experience in hygiene, chemical, cleaning or industrial consumables sales and service, or a comparable technical field‑based role.
• Ability to service an existing book of clients and win new business in the same role.
• Capability to understand hygiene audit criteria, evaluate results correctly and act on findings.
• Proven ability to train client staff on‑site.
• Strong organisational skills to keep contracts, compliance paperwork and equipment manuals in order.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Salary ranging from R20 000 to R25 000 per month.

• Annual bonus averaging 100% and up to 150%.
