Human Resources Superintendent

About the role

The Human Resources Superintendent provides operational leadership in delivering an integrated HR service. The role aligns people practices with business objectives, ensures compliance with legislation, supports effective employee relations, and drives organisational effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end talent acquisition processes.
• Provide HR advisory and support to management and employees.
• Handle employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, incapacity and CCMA preparation.
• Ensure compliance with labour legislation and company policies.
• Support workforce planning and organisational design initiatives.
• Administer remuneration, benefits and incentive schemes.
• Maintain HR systems (including SAP) and ensure data integrity.
• Compile and analyse HR reports and metrics.
• Drive employee engagement, communication and stakeholder relations.
• Implement cost‑saving and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage the contractor management function.

Required profile

• Relevant NQF Level 7 qualification in Human Resources Management.
• Additional qualification in Remuneration (advantageous).
• Minimum 5 years of HR experience covering employee relations, talent acquisition and workforce planning.
• At least 4 years of experience in remuneration practices and employee benefits.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation (LRA, BCEA, EEA).
• Sound knowledge of HR practices, reward principles and systems.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making ability.
• Ability to influence, build relationships and drive results.
• Medically fit.

Required skills

• Knowledge of labour legislation.
• Understanding of remuneration and benefits administration.
