Human Resources Specialist – Recruitment & Payroll

About the role

The Human Resources Specialist will lead end‑to‑end recruitment, payroll processing and statutory compliance for our South African operations. You will act independently to ensure all HR activities align with local labour legislation and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Own full‑cycle recruitment: demand confirmation, job posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, background checks, offer negotiation and onboarding.
• Manage monthly payroll using Sage Payroll, validate attendance, leave and deductions, and generate statutory filings (EMP201, EMP501, IRP5).
• Ensure compliance with South African labour laws (BCEA, LRA, EEA) and handle employee‑relations cases, including grievances, disciplinary hearings, terminations and CCMA processes.
• Administer leave types, conduct off‑boarding, support internal HR audits and perform ad‑hoc HR tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Human Resource Management or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of local HR experience covering recruitment and payroll.
• Strong practical knowledge of South African labour legislation and CCMA procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Sage Payroll system.
• Experience preparing SARS statutory filings (EMP201, EMP501, IRP5).
• Ability to draft employment contracts and manage employee‑relations documentation.
