Human Resources Specialist – Head Office

About the role

The Human Resources Specialist will support the head office in delivering strategic HR services across a multi‑site mining operation. This senior position requires deep expertise in labour relations, compliance, and organisational design to drive high‑impact HR initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist HR services aligned with the company’s strategic goals and executive committee input.
• Plan, coordinate and manage compliance with mining‑industry labour regulations (e.g., BBBEE, EE, LRA).
• Liaise with management and other departments to ensure seamless HR efficiency.
• Support performance management, goal setting, annual reviews, calibration and development planning.
• Administer rewards and benefits, including increases, bonuses and allowances, and support market benchmarking.
• Assist with policy interpretation, updates, communication and drive HR process improvements and automation.

Required profile

• Matric certificate or equivalent and a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources or a related field.
• HR professional registration (SABPP/HRPA) is advantageous.
• Practical knowledge of South African labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, EEA, MHSA, POPI).
• 15+ years of senior HR Generalist experience in the mining industry, supporting diverse, multi‑site environments.
• Proven track record in labour relations resolution, vendor and stakeholder management, organisational design, workforce planning and change management.
• Trusted advisor with sound judgement, confidentiality and strong organisational skills.
