Human Resources Practitioner

About the role

The Human Resources Practitioner will provide generalist HR support to the HR Department and help deliver the FSCA’s strategic human capital objectives. The role involves partnering with business leaders, managing talent processes, and ensuring compliance with labour legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with department heads to align HR outputs with business objectives.
• Monitor and discuss talent management initiatives with line management.
• Coordinate recruitment, selection, onboarding, and off‑boarding activities, ensuring vacancies are filled within agreed timelines.
• Support change‑management and transformation initiatives.
• Prepare and review job descriptions, profiles, and specifications.
• Advise on performance management, disciplinary matters, grievances, and employee relations.
• Provide guidance on employee benefits, compensation, and FSCA policies.
• Maintain up‑to‑date employee files and manage payroll submissions, salary reviews, and incentives.
• Manage relationships with internal and external HR service providers.
• Compile, analyse, and report HR metrics such as headcount, turnover, absenteeism, and vacancy trends.
• Support employee engagement, morale, and retention initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong people‑management, problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Robust administration, filing and systems competence.
• Conflict‑management and stakeholder‑relationship experience.
• Good knowledge of current HR legislation and employment equity principles.
• Ability to work consistently under pressure with strong numerical skills.
