About the role
The client, a leading FMCG company, is seeking a Human Resources Officer to join their HR department in Port Elizabeth. The role involves managing recruitment, onboarding, and day‑to‑day HR administration while supporting a respectful and inclusive workplace.
Key responsibilities
- Recruitment & hiring: write and post job adverts, screen applications, conduct initial interviews, arrange interviews with hiring managers, maintain a talent pool, perform background checks, prepare offer letters and onboarding documentation.
- HR administration: manage time‑and‑attendance systems, process weekly wages, maintain employee leave records, keep employee files up to date, handle recruitment invoices, coordinate site visits and safety inductions, capture injury‑on‑duty claims, order staff uniforms, and assist with staff events and CSR activities.
- General responsibilities: support management with ad‑hoc tasks, follow health and safety rules, maintain confidentiality, adhere to company policies, promote diversity and inclusion, and adapt to changing business needs.
Required profile
- Matric (Grade 12) qualification; HR qualification is an advantage.
- At least three years demonstrable experience in a similar HR role.
- Strong written and verbal communication, high attention to detail, well‑organized, able to work under pressure and independently.
- Professional demeanor, good judgement and discretion.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
