Human Resources Officer – Baragwanath Hub

About the role

The Human Resources Officer will advise on and implement HR policies, supporting recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration and induction at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate recruitment and selection, including advert design, interview scheduling and contracting.
• Provide line managers guidance on HR policies, employment terms, grievances, training and performance management.
• Advise and manage performance processes such as probation, appraisals and performance‑related counselling.
• Conduct disciplinary investigations and ensure fairness in disciplinary actions.
• Identify employee training needs in collaboration with HR managers.
• Process new hires, transfers, promotions, terminations and related payroll services.
• Facilitate induction and orientation for new employees.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in a full HR Generalist role.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle for travel between sites.
• Deadline‑orientated with high integrity and sound judgment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
