Human Resources Manager – South Africa

About the role

The Human Resources Manager will lead HR policy development, implementation and compliance for CrossCountry’s South African operations. Reporting to senior leadership, you will act as the primary HR contact for all South Africa‑based employees, ensuring alignment with both local legislation and the company’s global strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Research, develop and maintain HR policies in line with South African labour legislation (LRA, BCEA, EEA, POPIA) and CrossCountry’s global objectives.
• Oversee the full employment lifecycle, from offer issuance to employee exit, and keep the South Africa Employee Policy Guide up‑to‑date.
• Manage employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary processes, CCMA proceedings and investigations, ensuring procedural fairness.
• Develop and maintain a compliant Employment Equity Plan, submit annual EEA reports, and coordinate Skills Development Plan and levy obligations.
• Ensure POPIA‑compliant handling of employee data, maintain consent records and act as escalation point for privacy queries.
• Design and deliver South Africa‑specific employee engagement programmes, coordinate town‑halls, leadership visits and internal communications.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing HR functions within South Africa, with strong knowledge of LRA, BCEA, EEA and POPIA.
• Demonstrated ability to lead employee relations, labour compliance and employment equity initiatives.
• Experience in developing HR policies, managing the employment lifecycle and handling CCMA processes.
